The Greek Language Institute (INEL), in collaboration with NEOHEL Publications, following the initial online presentation “In the Classroom and in Practice” attended by 150 educators from 33 countries worldwide, is now organising and delivering a series of 4+1 training seminars.

These 4+1 seminars combine essential theoretical foundations with practical examples based on the “Greek for You” series (A1 & A2). In addition, new approaches to utilising the material in classroom settings will be presented.

The seminar series is further enriched by a thought-provoking lecture by Professor Giannis Emiris on Artificial Intelligence in Education.

“The Role and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Education”

Lecture delivered by Giannis Emiris, Professor of Geometric and Algebraic Algorithms at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Chair of the Board and Director-General of the Athena Research Center.

Artificial Intelligence is now a powerful tool with significant potential to accelerate and enhance educational services, while also presenting challenges and risks when used without careful consideration.
How soon will it influence everyday educational practice?
To what extent can humans retain control over increasingly powerful machines?
This talk raises key questions and explores emerging answers.

The lecture was originally presented at the International Conference on Teaching Modern Greek as a Second/Foreign Language and Multilingualism, held on 5–6 June 2025. After viewing the recorded presentation, Professor Emiris will join us live for a Q&A session.
