Evangelia Georgantzi, President of the Hellenic Language Institute (INEL), gave a radio interview on the show “Women’s Truths” hosted by Vivian Argyri on Star Central Greece Radio (Star FM 97.1), placing the Greek language at the heart of their discussion.
Ms. Georgantzi spoke about her longstanding efforts to promote the Greek language, both in her previous role as General Director of NEOHEL—a company involved in the teaching and research of Greek as a second/foreign language, from teacher training and educational publishing to applied linguistics and participation in EU-funded programs—and in her current role as President of INEL. She emphasized INEL’s vision of treating the Greek language as part of the world’s cultural heritage.
She specifically noted that INEL’s primary mission is the preservation of the Greek Language and Culture within the Greek Diaspora, as well as their global promotion and dissemination.
During the interview, she also announced the first major event organized by INEL:
The International Conference on the Teaching of Greek as a Second/Foreign Language and Multilingualism, which will take place in Athens, June 4–6, 2025.
