The first major event of INEL is the International Conference on Teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign Language and Multilingualism, which will take place in Athens from June 4 to 6, 2025. Special emphasis will be placed on multilingualism and its related parameters. The theoretical framework will be presented by university scholars with research expertise on the subject.
University lecturers from Greece and abroad (Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, Africa), working in public or private institutions, as well as secondary education teachers in Greece and internationally, will participate in panel discussions. Their presentations will link the teaching of various topics—such as vocabulary, translation, grammar, cultural elements, interculturality, assessment (4/5 skills), text processing, and more—to new teaching approaches and innovative practices. Each participant will select one of the aforementioned subtopics to explore. The application of theory to practice, along with the exchange of ideas, are key objectives of the conference.
